Please pray for Brandon

Please pray for Brandon

I am re-posting a message I received from a friend, please pray for Brandon, he needs all the prayers and support he can get.

I have heard some tragic news from a friend of mine. He has been regularly updating us on the condition of Brandon, a 5 year old who was in a minor accident.

I’d like you to pray for this little boy, Brandon, and also consider your own actions in transporting your children.

A childcare provider of Brandon’s put him in the front seat of a car to bring him somewhere. They were in a minor accident and the airbag deployed. The deployment was so strong that it broke his neck. Evidently there is nothing holding the child’s head to his body. He is in critical condition, and the prognosis does not look good.

He will surely be paralyzed for the rest of his life. His lungs regularly fill with fluid, and the stress on the family is, well…you can only imagine.

Please first and foremost pray for “Brandon”, God knows who he is.

Then consider if you bring your children here and there in the front seat. I have, to be honest. From the produce store down the street to provide a little fun for the boys once in a while. I don’t think I will again after hearing this story.

Here is the original info, read it if you want. Then say a little prayer for Brandon. And keep your kids safe!

***begin original message***

Several of you have been asking for an update on Brandon, so you know how to continue praying. I’m sending this out to all the recipients of the first email, but I don’t want to spam anyone. So, if you would like updates when I get them, shoot me a quick reply (unless you’ve already responded to the first message).

Here’s what’s happening:

He’s been stabilized, but he’s still in the ICU. He is in pain and is no longer responding to morphine. So, everyday his is awake and uncomfortable for about 12 hours. They give him something stronger at night, so he can sleep.

He has been able to move his arms, which is good. They haven’t determined whether he will be able to use his fingers.

When I spoke to my sister, Nikki, they were trying to find a window to remove the breathing tube and do a tracheotomy. However, his lungs have begun filling with fluid, so that had to be resolved first.

He is scared and confused. His mom, Tina, needs prayer just as badly. She is with him whenever he is awake. They are currenlty only allowing mom, dad, and the granparents in his room, because of the stress of the situation. This is a very trying situation for her, as you can imagine.

Worst of all…this little one is in pain, folks…the morphine isn’t doing it for him. Ugh.

They are very appreciative of your prayers.
